A Message From The Founder:
I have chosen to remember Benjamin’s life and not just focus on the night he was killed by starting a nonprofit organization that will provide educational and financial assistance to young minority males, so they can achieve their academic and professional goals despite their economic status. Benjamin was and is more than just the 17th homicide on October 10, 2012 in Trenton, New Jersey. He was a funny, kind-hearted, loving and talented young man who would always be willing help out anyone in need. Benjamin’s legacy is the altruistic way he chose to live and not the senseless manner in which he died.
B.E.N.S. WAY, Inc. will provide positive alternatives to young minority males other than turning to a life in the streets. The organization will also represent the type of person Benjamin was, his character and how he lived his life. Lastly, if I can prevent another mother or father from losing a child due to senseless gun violence and enduring a lifetime of heartache then I will be honoring my son’s life. ~ Glenda B . Torres
